To provide a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material which exhibits a high image concentration, is excellent in the concentration irregularity and the transferability during thermal development, and has excellent pickup property even when it is subjected to a rapid treatment; and to provide an image forming method.
In the silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material having a photosensitive layer containing an organic silver salt, silver halide particles, a binder and a reductant on the same surface of a support, the coefficient (μ) of kinetic friction between the outermost surface at the photosensitive layer side and the outermost surface of a backcoat layer side of the opposite side to the photosensitive layer is 0.20-0.40. When the coefficients of kinetic friction of the outermost surface of the photosensitive layer side and of the outermost surface of the backcoat layer side are defined as μe and μb, respectively, the following relation holds: 0.25≤μe + μb≤0.60. The image forming method of the imaging material is also provided.
