Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver or a silver-containing alloy with a reduced amount of α rays which is used, e.g., for manufacturing a semiconductor, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: In the silver, the amount of α rays in a sample after being subjected to melting and casting is ≤0.002 cph/cm. The silver is produced by leaching raw material silver having a purity on a 3N level with nitric acid or sulfuric acid and thereafter subjecting the same to electrolytic refining with an electrolytic solution having an Ag concentration of ≤700 g/L.
