Abstract:
PURPOSE: To selectively silylate a hydroxyl group without using expensive catalyst or causing unnecessary reductive reaction as side reaction.
CONSTITUTION: This process for the silylation of hydroxyl group comprises reacting a compound having hydroxyl group with at least one kind of silylation agent selected from hydrosilanes and disilanes in the presence of a quaternary ammonium halide.
