Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method which can measure the concentration of zinc directly and highly accurately in a plating solution in an electric zinc plating process with an inexpensive apparatus.

CONSTITUTION: A specified amount of plating solution in an electric zinc plating process is sampled to be placed into a reaction container 12 and an oxidation agent 14a is injected into the plating solution sample in the reaction container 12 to convert ferrous components contained in the plating solution into ferric components. Then, an iron compound settling agent 14b is fed to make iron components contained settle selectively. A supernatant is sucked to be collected and a specified amount of the supernatant is used to measure the concentration of zinc.
