Title:
DISTRIBUTED WAVEGUIDE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3147616
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a distributed waveguide sensor, which can detect the kind of a physical phenomenon generated in a waveguide of optical fiber and the like and the position of generation thereof with the simple structure.
CONSTITUTION: A distributed waveguide sensor for detecting a physical phenomenon, which works at any position of a waveguide 1, is provided with detecting means 41, 42 for detecting two pairs of electromagnetic waves, which are generated by a physical phenomenon in the waveguide 1 or of which condition is changed to be transmitted as a traveling wave inside of the waveguide, and a signal recognizing means 53 for analyzing the relation of time variation of the condition of the two pairs of electromagnetic waves, which are detected by the detecting means 41, 42, to estimate the position of generation of the physical phenomenon.
