To provide a method capable of evaluating simply the earthquake response quantity of a building by utilizing only fundamental information such as a structure or a scale of the building.
First of all, a building type is determined from a building scale (S11) and a structure classification (S12) of the object building, and regression coefficients a, b, α, β of the building type are selected (S13). Then, a building floor number N (S14) of the object building and the maximum acceleration A, and the maximum velocity V (S15) of a supposed earthquake wave are substituted for a simplified estimation expression having the determined regression coefficients a, b, α, β, and each maximum response quantity Rr, Rs on specific floors, the r-th floor and the s-th floor, is calculated (S16). The maximum response quantity Ri on an optional floor i is calculated by a linear interpolation expression by using each maximum response quantity Rr, Rs on the specific floors, the r-th floor and the s-th floor (S17).
