SIMULATION METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF PERFORMANCE OF PRODUCT COMPOSED OF VISCOELASTIC MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulation method in which the performance under the actual usage condition of a product composed of a viscoelastic material displaying nonlinear material properties is predicted with satisfactory accuracy by a simulation.
SOLUTION: Under a plurality of different measuring conditions assuming the actual usage state of the product composed of the viscoelastic material, every-moment values of a strain, a strain rate and a stress generated in the viscoelastic material are measured. On the basis of time historical data on the strain and the stress, a modulus of longitudinal elasticity under each measuring condition is calculated. The correspondence relationship between the strain, the strain rate and the modulus of longitudinal elasticity is derived. The product composed of the viscoelastic material is set as the product model of an object to be analyzed. The relationship between the strain, the strain rate and the modulus of longitudinal elasticity is input to the product model. The simulation is performed by taking into consideration a change in the modulus of longitudinal elasticity. The performance of the product model composed of the viscoelastic material is predicted.
