PURPOSE: To obtain information on flow, by a method wherein fine particles or bubbles are used as tracer and the flow of a fluid dispersed at an even density is irradiated with a slit light different in the wavelength band so that multiple sections are visualized simultaneously by scattering to take pictures by the wavelength band.
CONSTITUTION: A fluid in which a uniform tracer 4 is dispersed thick at an even density from a unit 2 is supplied stably into a tank 1 by a required amount to create a desired current field. Desired difference sections are irradiated simultaneously with slit lights 5B, 5G and 5R different in the wavelength band and the flow on the desired section is extracted and visualized by scattering the slit lights 5B, 5G and 5R with the tracer 4. When a picture is taken through BPFs 12B, 12G and 12R, the current field is separated by the wavelength band to obtain image information in terms of the sections, which contain various qualitative information such as density, changes therein and flow velocity. The visualization of an image input with a monitor TV enables simultaneous tracking of the behavior of the flow, thereby enabling accurate determination of qualitative information three-dimmensional.
