Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single cavity type toroidal type continuously variable transmission which can reduce a bearing loss and can elongate a life by suppressing a gyro slide.SOLUTION: In a single cavity type toroidal type continuously variable transmission, since a PCD (pitch circle diameter) of an output shaft side bearing 46 is smaller than that of an input shaft side bearing 43, and a ball diameter of the output shaft side bearing 46 is smaller than that of the input shaft side bearing 43, a centrifugal force applied to a ball of the output shaft side bearing at a speed-increased side and at a low load can be suppressed. Accordingly, a bearing loss can be reduced by suppressing a gyro slide. Furthermore, even in the case that the PCD (pitch circle diameter) and the ball diameter of the output shaft side bearing 46 are reduced smaller than those of the input shaft side bearing 43 by reducing a groove R-ratio of the output shaft side bearing 46 smaller than that of the input shaft side bearing 43, a life can be elongated.
