Abstract:
To shorten an emission lifetime while keeping an output (brightness) of a single crystal for a scintillator using a rare earth borate essentially comprising Lu.
The single crystal material for scintillator, which has the composition by doping a luminous element and Ca into the rare earth borate essentially comprising Lu (lutetium), is prepared. By doping the Ca, the emission lifetime can be shortened while keeping the output (brightness). By changing the doped amount of Ca, the emission lifetime can be adjusted for the intended use.
