Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a horizontal crankshaft and a vertical crankshaft in common, and also for the horizontal crankshaft use a horizontal and vertical ones in common.
SOLUTION: In an engine of this type, one opening of a crank case 2 on the side of a crankshaft 1 is an opening end. The opening end side of the crank case 2 is closed by a crank case cover body 3. The crankshaft 1 and a cam shaft 8 are supported by the crank case 2 and the crank case body 3. In such a case, a center axis of a cylinder C integrated with the crank case 2 is substantially horizontally or taperedly formed. A valve tappet guide G is molded integrally with the crank case 2 by die casting.
