To provide a single end face covering and binding mechanism of a wire coil in which a single end face can be automatically covered and bound with a wire coil in a side-directed state while the wire coil is under carriage in manufacturing to working steps of the wire coil.

The single end face covering and binding mechanism comprises a C-hook carrier, a covering machine arranged with the C-hook carrier facing forward, and a binding machine arranged with the C-hook carrier facing upwardly. The C-hook carrier has a C-hook which is supported by a frame movably in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction. The covering machine has a cover storage part and a robot arm with a suction head mounted on a tip part thereof. While the wire coil is carried in a side-directed state by the C-hook, a cover taken out of the cover storage part by the suction head of the robot arm at a predetermined position during the carriage is placed on a single end face of the wire coil, and the wire coil with the cover placed on the single end face at the predetermined position during the carriage is bound by the binding machine.
