Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single layer type electrophotographic photoreceptor having good electrification ability and sensitivity, excellent in light resistance and durability and ensuring high stability of electrostatic property even after repetition of a copying process.
SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor obtained by disposing a single layer type photosensitive layer on an electrically conductive support directly or by way of an intermediate layer, an azo compound of the formula Ar(-N=N-Cp)n is contained in the photosensitive layer. In the formula, Ar is an aromatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic heterocyclic group that may bond through a bonding group; Cp is a coupler residue; n is an integer of 1-4; and at least one of the symbols Cp is selected from formulae (2)-(3), wherein R51-R56 are each H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or the like; X51 is H, alkyl, an aromatic hydrocarbon group or the like; and Y51 is alkylene, a divalent organic residue or the like.
