Abstract:
Monomodal or polymodal catalyst carriers or catalysts have a BET specific surface of 0.01 to 250 m<2>/g. The mean pore size is from 50-300000 nm as measured by the Hg pressure porosity method. The pore size distribution is such that 10-95% of the pore vol. is 0.2-100 times the mean pore dia. and/or 10-80% of the pore vol. is 0.8-100 times the mean pore dia. and/or 50-95% of the pore vol. is 0.2-1 times the mean pore dia. and/or 50-80% of the pore vol. is 0.8-1 times the mean pore dia. and full width at half max. of the pore size distribution is < 0.6 times the mean pore dia. Also claimed is a method of producing such materials by mixing followed by granulation, pressing, rolling, extrusion, injection, moulding, continuous casting at 80-250 degrees C.
