Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce a memory area by encoding a single word of high use frequency, storing in the memory, automatically retrieving a code table when registering the name of a good by means of an electronic balance and changing a good's name character code to a single word code. CONSTITUTION:When the signal word of the highest using frequency of the goods name registered words is encoded, stored and the goods name is registered by the electronic balance, this code table is automatically searched and stored in the memory by the single word code. When the goods name is registered by a single word code table formation device, if an operator presses a prescribed key in a keyboard after the completion of registering the goods names of all the goods, this device searches the single word of high using frequency. As a result of this, the goods names of the high using frequency are gathered in order, and the single word code table of, for instance, three digits (in the case of 'BEEF', 100) is formed. By using the encoded single word code table, for instance, an area requiring 8 digits in the case of 'BEEF' in the registering area of the electronic balance may required only three digits.
