To provide source device allowing a sink device to transmit sink device information for discriminating radio connection states of other sink devices reproducing AV data from the same source device, in reproducing the AV data transmitted by multicast radio transmission from the source device.
The source device 1 includes an AV transmission section for transmitting AV data by multicast radio transmission, a connection state determination section for determining a radio connection state of each sink device, based on the result of detecting the reception states of the sink devices 2a, 2b, and the like or operation states, a device information storage section for storing sink device information of each sink device, and a device information transmission section for transmitting the sink device information by radio. In this case, the sink device information is formed by associating identification information for identifying a plurality of sink devices 2a, 2b, and the like including the sink device 2a with state information indicating the radio connection states of the sink devices 2a, 2b, and the like.
