Abstract:
To provide a sintered compact the sizes of open pores of which can be controlled according to various uses and which is suitably used, e.g. as a heat sink or a filter.
The sintered compact is constituted of a sintered base material 12 and a layer 14 which is formed on the surface of the sintered base material 12 by the reaction of at least one element constituting at least the sintered base material 12 and an added element. The suitable element to be added is at least one selected from B, Cr, Mn, Mo, Ti, Zr, Ta and Be.
