To provide a sintered connecting rod, having high strength reliability by effectively reinforcing a part where high stress is generated during engine rotation.
In the sintered connecting rod, a larger end part 11 and a smaller end part 12 are continuous through a column part 13. In the column part 13, a reinforcing core member 20 is embedded in such a state as to expose on both sides. Stress generated in accordance with engine rotation is normally larger along a side surface of the column part 13. By embedding the core member 20 to expose in the side surface, resistance to engine load such as tension, compression, and bending is greatly improved in the column part 13, especially to the bending load, thereby the bend fatigue resistance becomes sufficient.
