Title:
SINTERED FRICTION MEMBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000130484
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To manifest a high friction coefficient in lubricating oil and to improve abrasion resistance by forming a resin layer containing a lubricating component on a surface layer having specific porosity and on the side to make contact with a mating member so as not to block pores.

A sintered friction member 1 is furnished with a sintered body 2 made of metal and a resin layer 3 formed on a surface of the sintered body 2 so as not to block pores 1b on a surface layer 1a making contact with a mating member 100. A lubricating component is contained in the resin layer 3. Porosity is favorable at not less than 15 volume % and not more than 60 volume %, and more favorably, desirable at not less than 20 volume % and not more than 40 volume %. As the porosity increases, the number of passages through which lubricating oil permeates in a material increases, and it becomes easier for lubricating oil to permeate. Additionally, in the case of applying it to a part to be used under a condition where an oil film of low pressure and high speed is easily formed, an oil film discharging effect is further increased by making the porosity at not less than 20 volume %, and it is possible to provide a favorable friction characteristic.
