Abstract:
To provide a nickel electrode which prevents the swelling of an electrode without containing harmful cadmium, lengthens the life, enhances high rate discharge performance, enhance an active material utilization factor, and is environmentally friendly.
In a sintered nickel electrode prepared by filling an active material in a nickel sintered substrate, the active material is nickel hydroxide containing group 2A, 2B elements and/or cobalt in a solid solution state, and a composite covering layer of cobalt and/or group 2A, 2B element compounds is formed on the surface of the active material.
