Title:
SINTERED PARTS USED IN FLUID CONTAINING EARTH, SAND OR THE LIKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5837152
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the satisfactory use of sintered parts made of an Fe-base sintered body contg. Ni, Co and Mo in the severe wearing environment of a fluid contg. earth, sand, etc. by subjecting the sintered parts to copper infiltration.

CONSTITUTION: A powdered mixture consisting of Ni, Co, Mo and the balance essentially Fe is pressurized to form a powdered molded body, and by sintering the molded body, an Fe-base sintered body is obtd. Sintered parts made of this sintered body are subjected to copper infiltration to impregnate copper into the pores of the sintered body. The resulting sintered parts have superior wear resistance at the interiors as well as the surface parts, so they are suitably used as parts for the impeller of a pump in water, etc.
