Title:
SINTERING METHOD OF METALLIC POWDER UNDER PRESSURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61503
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a sintered body which is sufficiently densified and is not con taminated with a pressure medium by packing metallic powder into a case, heating the case, then densifying the powder with use of the pressure medium, and further compacting the powder by using a gaseous pressure medium.

CONSTITUTION: Metallic powder 2 of titanium, etc. is packed into a metallic case 1 having the same shape as the desired product. The body 3 to be treated is heated, then supplied into an HIP apparatus 4, and pressed isotropically at high temps. by using liquid pressure or a solid pressure medium to obtain a compact having density ≥95% of net density. The compact is then pressed isotropically at high temps. by using a gaseous pressure medium such as gaseous argon to obtain a product 5 which is pressed and sintered. By this method, a sound product in the complicated from having excellent mechanical strength can be formed by said Near-Net molding.
