Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a sizing agent enabling excellent start-up of sizing operation, exhibiting excellent sizing performance, facilitating the setting of paper-making condition and free from staining of paper machine.
CONSTITUTION: This sizing agent for making a neutral paper is produced by mixing an aqueous dispersion containing a rosin substance containing at least one kind of rosin esters and their reinforced materials with an aqueous dispersion containing alkylketene dimers. This invention also relates to the sizing agent, sizing method and sized paper. The sizing degree can be controlled by the mixing ratio of the aqueous dispersions. Since these aqueous dispersions are stable in separated state compared with the mixed state, the dispersions are stored in separated state and mixed with each other at need to prevent the deterioration of the dispersion stability.
