To provide a skewering apparatus capable of automatically, safely, and highly reliably conducting troublesome skewering operation needing skillfulness, thus mitigating burden on operators.
The skewering apparatus 1 includes a skewering mechanism 20 including a mechanism transforming the revolution of an electric motor 21 into the reciprocating motion of a mobile element 12 acting on skewers 2 sideways; and a mechanism transforming the revolution of the electric motor 21 into the swing motion of a swing arm 24 and transforming the swing motion of the swing arm 24 into the reciprocating motion of a pushing out element 27 axially pushing out the rear ends of skewers 2. This apparatus 1 works as follows: skewers 2 inside a skewer container 10 are sequentially taken out one by one utilizing the reciprocating motion of the mobile element 12, and pushing out the rear end of each of the skewers 2 utilizing the reciprocating motion of the pushing out element 27, thus conducting a skewering processing at a skewering section 30. This apparatus 1 also includes a driving force-absorbing mechanism so designed as to transmit no driving force of the electric motor to the mobile element 12 when a defined or greater load is developed on the reciprocating motion of the mobile element 12.
