To make snow and ice hardly stickable to running surfaces without applying wax, to ensure easy skiing and to improve gliding performance by incorporating titanium oxide into the polymers of the running surfaces at the bottoms of ski boards.
The materials formed by molding high-density polyethylene(PE), ultrahigh mol.wt. PE or polypropylene(PP) are usually used for the running surface materials (sole materials) of the ski boards. The titanium oxide is uniformly incorporated into such running surface materials during the stage for molding these materials. The titanium oxide to be used is preferably titanium dioxide. This titanium dioxide is preferably incorporated in the form of powder into the polymers. The amt. of the titanium dioxide to be added is specified to about 0.1 to 10wt.% of the polymers. An equally good alternative is to incorporate the titanium dioxide into the polymers, such as PE, PP, molded to a sheet form and sticking these sheets to the running surfaces at the bottoms of the ski boards.
