Title:
SKI BOOTS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0810002
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To impart a holding force to an inner boot to allow a delicate skiing operation by providing a fitting pad consisting of a rubberlike matter which is expanded to be restored to a primary imparted form when a skier puts on ski boots.

CONSTITUTION: When a skier puts on ski boots having inner boots 13 installed thereto, a fitting pad 27 is closely adhered to the skier's foot 37 through a thin skin 21, and a heel holding plate 25 firmly holds the heel part of the inner boot 13. Since the glass transition temperature of a shape memory synthetic resin 28 constituting the fitting pad 27 is 35°C, the fitting pad 27 is expanded by the body temperature of the skier, restored to a primary imparted form, and closely adhered to the heel part of the skier's foot 37 to give a sure fitting feeling between the ski boot and the skier's foot 37. When the ski boot is taken off and left in a low temperature place, the shape memory synthetic resin 28 is returned to a secondary imparted form, and when the skier puts on the ski boots again, the fitting pad 27 is never protruded inward to facilitate the insertion of the feet.
