Abstract:
To provide an effective but simple and easy-to-produce differential steering device for a skid steered LATV, making it possible to drive and steer in a controlled manner at high vehicle speeds with high safety and smoothness even if the ground surface condition is changing dramatically while driving fast around a corner.SOLUTION: A skid steered all-terrain vehicle (ATV) comprises two driving units to drive wheels or endless tracks 51 on both sides of the vehicle, and a differential steering device with a differential gear. The ATV is a light ATV (LATV). The differential steering device is designed to produce a defined differential speed of the two drive units of the vehicle related to the steering angle of the differential steering device regardless of the surface condition where the vehicle is driving, and thereby an additional steering drive acts on the differential gear.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
