Title:
SKID FOR TRANSMITTING PIPE ROD STEEL MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54118055
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control the rolling speed of a steel pipe by the change of the intensity of magnetic field, by arranging a bipolar magnet under the carrying planes of skid rails so that the magnet have some extent.

CONSTITUTION: A bipolar magnet rail 3 is mounted between skid rails 1 for rolling carrying materials, such as, a steel pipe 2, etc. A thrust to the left operates in an arrangement as shown in the figure, and braking force acts on the steel pipe in an inclined skid that the steel pipe rolls to the right from the left. The intensity of magnetic field on carrying surfaces becomes strong at a location 0 and weak at a location 0', and the intensity varies by an angle of the divergency θ of a magnet. A rolling condition can be varied by adjusting the angle of divergency.
