To provide a skin care preparation for external use, which increases the moisture retaining action of the external preparation mixed with a yeast extract and imparts an excellent feeling of moisture retention to a skin.

The skin care preparation comprises (A) a yeast extract and (B) a liposome containing one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of tryptophan and histidine. The skin care preparation imparts a feeling of moisture retention to a skin area by its application to the skin area. The feeling of moisture retention is further enhanced by mixing the component (B) with one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of valine, leucine, isoleucine, threonine, lysine, methionine and phenylalanine.
