Abstract:
To obtain a skin cosmetic highly safe and having skin beautifying effect by including a specific hydrogenated chlorogenic acid.
This skin cosmetic is obtained by including pref. 0.01-5.0 wt.% of at least one kind of hydrogenated chlorogenic acid of formula I(R1 to R3 are such that at least one of them is a hydrogenated caffeoyl group of formula II, the rest being H). By the way, the compound of formula I is prepared by reducing the unsaturated bond of the caffeoyl group in mono- or dicaffeoylquinic acid or a mixture thereof or the like with palladium black or the like, specifically being e.g. hydrogenated 3-caffeoylquinic acid, hydrogenated 3,4- dicaffeoylquinic acid, hydrogenated 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid.
