Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin cosmetic esp. excellent in skin whitening effect by including specific plant extract(s) and yeast and/or yeast extract and specific biphenyl compound(s).
SOLUTION: This skin cosmetic contains at least one kind of extract selected from those of Scutellaria baicalensis Deorgi (Labiatate), Glycyrrhiza glabra Linne and Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisher (Legminosae), Aloe arborescens Miller (Liliaceae), Thea sinesis Linne (Theaceae) frutis and Camellia japonica Linne (Theaceae) seeds and yeast and/or yeast extract, and biphenyl compound(s) of formula I (R1 is CH3, C2H5, etc.) and/or formula II (R2 is H or a 1-8C alkyl) (e.g. dehydrocreosol). The amounts of the ingredients to be formulated are pref. 0.0001-3.0wt.%, 0.001-5.0wt.% and 0.0001-20wt.% for the plant extract(s), yeast and/or yeast extract and biphenyl compound(s), respectively.
