PURPOSE: To provide the skin cosmetic sufficient in the moisture-retaining effect, excellent in the skin-beautifying effect and preferable also in the functional characteristics by combining a mucopolysaccharide with a soluble egg shell membrane and further adding a phosphate ester type surfactant to the mixture.

CONSTITUTION: The skin cosmetic comprises a mucopolysaccharide (e.g. hyaluronic acid), a soluble egg shell membrane and a phosphate ester type surfactant [e.g. 2-(N-dodecyl-N,N-dimethylammonio)ethyl phosphate ester]. The mucopolysaccharide, the soluble egg shell membrane and the phosphate ester type surfactant are preferably compounded in amounts of 0.001-5%, 0.01-10%, and approximately 0.01-2.0%, respectively.
