PURPOSE: To obtain a skin cosmetic having no irritation to human skin, being even in the case of long-term storage and capable of simultaneously exhibiting and providing excellent skin irritation-preventing effect and aging-preventing effect of skin as well as excellent whitening effect.

CONSTITUTION: This skin cosmetic contains (A) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of γ-amino-β-hydroxylactic acid and its salt and (B) ar least one compound selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid- phosphoric acid ester, ascorbic acid-sulfuric acid ester, their salts and an ascorbic acid derivative of the formula [R1 is H or (CH2CH2O)xH; R2 is H or (CH2CH2O)YH; X+Y is 1-40; R3 is H or 1-22C alkyl]. The blend amounts of these components A and B are 0.01-10wt.% and 0.01-30wt.%, respectively, based on the total amount of formulation components of cosmetic.
