PURPOSE: To provide a membrane material exhibiting the nature of the skin permeability of drugs resembling the skin permeability of the drugs of the human skin by forming a copolymer of a monomer having a hydroxyalkyl group and a macromonomer having a polyorgano-siloxane chain of a prescribed copolymer compsn.
CONSTITUTION: This skin model membrane consists of the copolymer having the repeating units expressed by general formulas (I) and (II), the molar ratio of the repeating unit expressed by the general formula (I) and the repeating unit expressed by (II) in an 80/20 to 1/99 range and ≥1000 number average mol.wt. In the general formula (I), R1 is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, cyano group, 1 to 6C alkyl group or phenyl group; R2 is a hydroxyalkyl group. In the formula (II), X is a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, cyano group, 1 to 6C alkyl group or phenyl group; R3 to R9 are alkyl groups or phenyl groups which may be the same or different; (p) is an integer from 2 to 6; (n) is an integer from 1 to 10.
