To produce a skipping rope at a low cost without generation of hazardous materials, such as dioxin, and to provide the skipping rope having an easy- to-skip characteristic by forming the skipping rope of a single layer structure formed by molding of an extrusion moldable polymer material which consists essentially of rubber and elastomer exclusive of polyvinyl chloride(PVC) and specifying its line density and Young's modulus to specific ranges.
The skipping rope consists of the single layer structure formed by molding of the extrusion moldable polymer material which consists essentially of the rubber and elastomer exclusive of the PVC and has the line density of 10 to 16 g/m and the Young's modulus of 4 to 33 MPa. The rubber and elastomer to be used exclusive of the PVC may be exemplified by rubber or elastomer free of halogen atoms, such as chlorine. The skipping rope may be formed by a known arbitrary method and may be produced by adding the essential component, side components and arbitrary additives to a hopper of, for example, a single-screw extrusion molding machine, blending the mixture and extrusion molding the mixture mounted with a mouthpiece of a prescribed size through a cylinder, die and head.
