To provide a slab conveying device for presses without applying bending to a material to be rolled after pressing and without applying excessive load to a conveying device.
This device is provided with an ascendable and descendable inlet-side conveying device 5 which is provided on the upstream side of a press and with which a material 1 to be rolled is carried in the press and ascendable and descendable outlet-side conveying device 6 which is provided on the downstream side and with which the pressed material 1 to be rolled is conveyed. In the inlet-side conveying device 5, its conveying height is set so that the center of thickness becomes the center of the press based on the thickness information of the material 1 to be rolled which is carried in and, in the outlet-side conveying device 6, its conveying height is set so that the cenyer of thickness becomes the center of the press based on the thickness information of the pressed material 1 to be rolled.
