Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slack amount measurement device of a chain in a passenger conveyor capable of accurately measuring the slack amount of the chain without requiring a member abutting on the chain and in a stop state for stopping the operation of the passenger conveyor when measuring the slack amount of the chain.SOLUTION: A slack amount measurement device 11 of a chain in an escalator includes: a force application member for applying force to bend a driving chain 10 provided in the escalator; and a scale 15 for indicating slack amount of the driving chain 10 when the driving chain 10 is bent by the force application member. The slack amount measurement device further includes a bracket 12 fixed to a movable frame 3 disposed in the vicinity of the driving chain 10. The force application member includes a measuring spring 19 which has one end engaged with a fixed pin 20 of the bracket 12 and the other end which can be engaged with the driving chain 10. The scale 15 is formed at a prescribed portion of the bracket 12 facing the driving chain 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
