Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slat conveyor driven by induction type linear motor, which generates less vibrations and noises, reduces loss of consumed power, and can decrease unevenness in the slat running speed.
SOLUTION: A secondary conductor is formed from a number of slats 4 which are coupled together endlessly at a constant spacing so as to run circulatively along a certain running path, and on the ground near the running path, the primary side stators 6, 7 are installed stationarily in such a way as confronting the secondary conductor. Thus an intended slat conveyor driven by an induction type linear motor is accomplished, wherein the length in the slat running direction of the stators 6, 7 is made approx. integer times as large as the running direction pitch of the secondary conductor part formed by the slats 4. The sum of the areas of the secondary conductor parts of a plurality of slats 4 confronting the stators 6, 7 is kept approx. constant during running of slat 4, and therefore, pulsation of the thrust force is reduced.
