Title:
SLEEVE FOR PRESSURE CASTING EXCELLENT IN EROSION RESISTANCE AND HEAT RETAINING PROPERTY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3243985
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeve for pressure casting which demonstrates excellent erosion resistance and is excellent in the temperature retaining property without adopting any special method such as CVD on the assumption that inexpensive steel compared with Ti alloy, etc., is employed as base material of the sleeve for pressure casting.
SOLUTION: In a cylindrical sleeve to be used in the pressure casting of non-ferrous casting, at least its inner circumferential surface in contact with the molten metal is made of alloy steel containing ≥10vol.% Cr. The whole sleeve is made of alloy steel and the sleeve consists of an outer circumferential member and an inner circumferential member. The conventional hot tool steel is used for the outer circumferential member, while alloy steel is used for the inner circumferential member. At least the inner circumferential member in contact with the molten metal contains ≥1vol.% N, or forms CrN to obtain further excellent erosion resistance.
