PURPOSE: To enable cutting working which is high in precision to be carried out by a method wherein air is blown against many points on a surface of a cutter blade, and uniform tension is generated all over the cutter blade to remove its slackness uniformly.
CONSTITUTION: Air is blown against an upper surface of a cutter blade 7 from air pads 121-124 provided at tips of respective support arms 12, 13 while a cutter body is being rotated at high speed with a main shaft 2 positioned within a circular hole 7a of the cutter blade 7. The cutter blade 7 is displaced downwards thereby, uniform tension is generated over all the cutter blade 7, and its slackness is removed. Besides, a plane position of the cutter blade 7 at that time is detected with a positional detection sensor, which is taken as an initial plane position. Then, a work is transferred in a cutting direction under this state, and the work is sliced. Many points of the cutter blade 7 are pressurized with air to generate uniform tension over all the cutter blade 7. The work can be cut under a state wherein slackness is removed uniformly, and slicing which is high in precision can be carried out.
