Abstract:

To provide a slidability modifier easy to handle, highly dispersible in a thermoplastic resin and capable of improving both the slidability and moldability of the thermoplastic resin, to provide a method for producing the slidability modifier, and to provide a thermoplastic resin composition capable of efficiently molding a molded form of good slidability and surface appearance.

The slidability modifier comprises polytetrafluoroethylene particles smaller than 10μm in size and less than 1000,000 in molecular weight and a polymer 50-80°C in glass transition temperature and less than 1000,000 in molecular weight, wherein the content of the polytetrafluoroethylene particles is 40-80 mass% based on the content of the polymer. The method for producing the slidability modifier comprises solidifying the mixture of an aqueous dispersion of the polytetrafluoroethylene particles 0.05-1.0μm in size and less than 1000,000 in molecular weight and an aqueous dispersion of polymer particles 0.05-1.0μm in size followed by powdering the resultant solidified mixture.
