In the slide contact material for a small motor, a first layer 2 having arithmetic average roughness Ra of (A) m and made of a noble metal or an alloy in which the noble metal is a principal component, and a second layer 3 prepared at an upper layer of the first layer and having a film thickness of 0.001(A) or more and (A) m or less and made of a noble metal or an alloy in which the noble metal is a principal component are arranged on a conductive base body 1. The noble metal forming the second layer 3 or the noble metal as the principal component of the alloy forming the second layer is a different element from the noble metal forming the first layer 2 or the noble metal as the principal component of the alloy forming the first layer.
