To efficiently carry out NC machining of a slide core hole by making good use of high-speed cutting performance of a five-shaft machining machine.
In carrying out of slide core hole machining, a main shaft head is rotated depending on an inclined angle of each slide core hole to be machined in a die, and an A axis angle is fixed, followed by machining a counter-bored hole having a flat bottom surface in a surface of the die by means of an end mill as a tool. Then a guide hole is bored in a bottom surface of the counter-bored hole by means of a drill or a reamer as a tool, and a rod hole is bored with the aid of the guide hole as a guide of a gun drill, by means of the gun drill as a tool. Thereafter a shape machining of shaping an intermediate pocket hole is carried out in the surface where the counter-bored hole is formed, as preliminary machining of a core pocket, by means of the end mill as a tool, and a location of the center of the rod hole in the seat surface of the intermediate pocket and a location of the seat surface of the intermediate pocket are measured, followed by measuring a location of a reference point of the rod hole as a reference of machining of the core pocket. Finally a machining program is executed, and the shape machining from coarse machining of the core pocket to finish machining is carried out.
