Abstract:

To provide a slide mechanism having rigidity and flexibility, and to provide a torque limiting mechanism, a drive device and a robotic device.

A slide mechanism which causes a slide with respect to a rotary shaft includes: a transmission unit so as to be able to contact with at least part of the peripheral surface of the rotary shaft; a rigidity variable unit connected with the transmission unit, and for generating friction force between the rotary shaft and the transmission unit by contacting the transmission unit to the rotary shaft while force is applied in a direction different from the axial direction of the rotary shaft; and a control unit for controlling the rigidity of the rigidity variable unit such that the friction force between the rotary shaft and the transmission unit is rendered variable.
