The slide type cutting machine 1 comprises a base 2 equipped with a loading surface 21 on which a workpiece is loaded, the straight guide apparatus 3 attached to the base 2, and a linking means 5 attached to a cutting part 4 having a blade 41a, wherein the straight-guide apparatus 3 and the linking means 5 cooperate with each other to form a Scott Russell mechanism and guide the straight movement of the cutting part 4. A second cutting part fixing hole 32 formed in the slide holder 32 of the straight guide apparatus 3, and a first cutting part fixing hole 46 formed at the rear portion of the carrying handle 43 of the cutting part 4, are secured with a fixing pin 32a to fix the movement of the cutting part 4.
