To provide a sliding bearing for base isolation capable of easily and quickly measuring a creep amount of a sliding material.
The sliding material 16 of the sliding bearing 10 for base isolation is arranged in an upper part structure 14 via a sliding material holder 20, and a sliding plate 18 is arranged in a lower part structure 12. The sliding material holder 20 is provided with an attachment plate 22, and a pillar part 23 protruding like a pillar from a center part of the attachment plate 22. The pillar part 23 is composed of a rubber layer 24, and sliding material holding hardware 26 joined to the rubber layer 24. The holding hardware 26 has a cylinder part 2602, and an inclined part 2604 with a cross-sectional area gradually reducing in accordance with distance from a lower part of the cylinder part 2602 and comprising a conical face with its lower end outer circumference positioned in an outer rim neighborhood of the sliding material 16. Annular protruding parts 2610 composing reference points in measurement are formed throughout a whole circumference of the cylinder part 2602 in a vertical intermediate part of the cylinder part 2602.
