To provide a sliding door device which does not affect an opening length of an entrance or a door width when doors are fully extended, even if the sliding door device employs large-diameter sash rollers with high durability.

According to the structure of the sliding door device 1, hangers are arranged on front and rear sides of each of the front door 4 and the rear door 5 such that one of the hangers of the other door is located between the hangers of the one door, and the doors travel on a single rail to open/close the entrance. Herein the front hanger 10a of the rear door 5 is arranged so as to be relatively movable with respect to the rear door 5 in a sliding door traveling direction.
