PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device capable of improving its opening/closing operability while improving its aesthetic appearance in a fully opened state, and increasing the opening width of a gateway.SOLUTION: A sliding door device 1 is provided with three door panels 10A, 10B, 20 disposed in a double sliding manner so as to be superimposed on each other in a door thickness direction and slid along a door width direction so as to mutually interlock. The door width dimension of each door panel is formed to be larger than the door width dimension of a central door panel 20. The sliding door device 1 is equipped with stopper parts 14 for stopping movement of the door panels on both sides in the door thickness direction with respect to the central door panel to respective opening sides such that: when they are fully opened, an unopenable side end face 18A of the door panel 10A on one side in the door thickness direction and one side end face 21 in the door width direction of the central door panel agree approximately with each other in the door width direction; and an unopenable side end face 18B of the door panel 10B on the other side in the door thickness direction and the other side end face 23 in the door width direction of the central door panel agree approximately with each other in the door width direction.
