Abstract:
To solve such a problem wherein a conventional slide material composition filled with a glass fiber, carbon fiber and various kinds of metal powder, have high surface hardness or high elastic modulus of the fillers and hence are liable to wear a soft metal member such as aluminum or mild steel.
The slide material composition comprises of a firing-carbonized phenol resin fiber and either a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin; the firing-carbonized phenol resin fiber has a low elastic modulus, besides is less prone to be split in comparison with an aromatic polyamide fiber and is possible to be dispersed uniformly into a matrix resin and also has a small frictional coefficient and abrasive wear that the fiber is practically usable.
