To provide a portable remote terminal sliding mechanism having greatly reduced manufacturing cost by minimizing the number of components while holding the function the same as conventional one.

The mechanism for relatively sliding a first casing and a second casing in vertically overlapped relation comprises a sliding case mounted on at least one of the first and second casings, a slider slidably housed in the sliding case and mounted on at least one of the first and second casings, and an elastic means elastically provided between the slider and the sliding case. The sliding case is formed integrally with a guide groove which is sectionally protruded and opened at one end and which extends in the longitudinal direction. The slider is formed to be inserted into the guide groove at its opening end in engagement therewith. The sliding case also has a stopper portion for preventing the come-off of the slider after inserting the slider into the guide groove.
